VH-Series Swing-Arm Single Shaft Shredder is a primary size reduction machine widely deployed in plastic recycling washing lines, plastic pelletizing production lines, and solid waste pre-processing systems.
It is purpose-built for plastic recycling plants, waste management facilities, and manufacturing factories that need to shred bulky, rigid, or baled materials into uniform flakes or chunks for downstream processes such as crushing, washing, drying, and granulation.
It handles a broad spectrum of materials including PP/PE agricultural film bales, industrial stretch wrap, jumbo bags, woven sacks, HDPE/PP drums and IBC containers, PVC/PE pipes, injection purgings and lumps, waste pallets, scrap fiber, and even textile waste.

Working Process Flow
Feeding Way

Material is fed into the funnel-shaped hopper from above using a forklift, crane, or conveyor belt. It falls into the shredding chamber under its own weight and accumulates above the cutter rollers.
Magnetic Conveyor Belt

The shredded flakes fall onto the high-speed magnetic conveyor belt below; metal impurities—such as iron wire and filings mixed in with the flakes—are instantly captured by a strong magnet and automatically scraped off as the belt moves.
Gear Box

The entire series is equipped with hard-tooth-surface gear boxes—featuring top Chinese brands such as Tongli and Guomao, or the German brand SEW—manufactured using carburizing, quenching, and gear-grinding processes to ensure high tooth-surface hardness.
Rotor

The rotor is machined from a single 40Cr alloy structural steel forging, combining high strength with excellent toughness. Operating at a low speed of 83 RPM with high torque, it withstands repeated material impacts and alternating torsional loads, effectively preventing fatigue failure.
Screen Mesh

The screen is formed from a thick, wear-resistant steel plate with 100 mm apertures, ensuring high-capacity throughput without material buildup. It wraps around the cutter rotor in a semi-circular arc and can be rapidly replaced within 10 minutes via a hydraulic control system.
Blades

The blades fixed on a separate blades holder easy for maintenance. The rotor blades are made of SKD-11 or D-2 high-carbon, high-chromium cold-work die steel; they feature a symmetrical, square, four-edged design, allowing each blade to be reused four times. Between 38-135 rotor blades are arranged in a V-shaped helical pattern on the outer surface of the cutter rotor.
Independent Hydraulic Power Unit

The independent hydraulic station is driven by a 5.5 kW oil pump motor and controls the shredder's pusher cylinder, swing arm cylinder, hydraulic screen changer, and other components.
Electrical Control Panel

The electrical control cabinet houses components such as a Siemens PLC and Schneider contactors. The system monitors the main motor current in real time; if the load current exceeds the preset threshold, it automatically stops the main motor and reverses the rotation to retract the material. These operations are fully automated by the PLC, ensuring protection for both electrical and mechanical components during overload conditions.
