The working process is simple and continuous:
1. Feeding. A conveyor belt or manual loading puts material into the hopper.
2. Pushing. An internal hydraulic pusher presses material toward the rotor. It adjusts the feed rate automatically based on the main motor load.
3. Shredding. The rotating blades and the fixed blades cut the material in the shredding chamber.
4. Screening. Properly sized pieces fall through the screen mesh under the rotor. Oversized pieces stay in the chamber for further shredding.
5. Discharge. A belt conveyor carries the shredded plastic to the next stage, such as a washing or pelletizing line.

The electrical control panel uses a Siemens PLC, Schneider contactors and buttons, and an ABB frequency converter. The PLC monitors the load all the time. When the motor current gets too high, the main motor stops and reverses to clear the jam. This protects the rotor, blades and motor.
The motor is customized for heavy shredding with high torque and built-in overload protection. WEG, Siemens and other well-known motor brands are available as options.
An optional semi-auto metal detector can be installed on the feeding conveyor. It stops the belt and sounds an alarm when it finds metal. The stated sensitivity is 8 mm or more for ferrous metal and 10 mm or more for non-ferrous metal.
